The massive and continual increase in the number of people has overwhelmed the city. Housing shortages are rife, buses are packed to the hilt, snarled traffic paralyses life in the city and broken pipes spew water and sewage into the streets. أبقى البنك المركزي المصري سعر صرف الجنيه دون تغيير عند 7.7301 جنيه للدولار في عطائه الرسمي، يوم الأحد، كما حافظت العملة على استقرارها في معاملات السوق السوداء.
وتواجه مصر التي تعتمد اعتمادا كثيفا على واردات الغذاء والطاقة نقصا في الدولار وضغوطا متزايدة لتخفيض قيمة العملة.
وفاجأ البنك المركزي الأسواق عندما رفع سعر الجنيه أمام الدولار بواقع 20 قرشا في 11 نوفمبر وأبقى الجنيه مستقرا منذ ذلك الحين خلافا لتوقعات السوق.
وباع البنك المركزي يوم الأحد 39.1 مليون دولار وبلغ أقل سعر مقبول 7.7301 جنيه للدولار دون تغير عن عطاء يوم الخميس ليوفر للبنوك 38.10 بالمائة من المبالغ التي طلبتها.
ومازال السعر الرسمي بعيدا عن سعر السوق السوداء، الذي قال متعامل إنه بلغ اليوم 8.58 جنيه للدولار، دون تغير يذكر عن 8.57 جنيه يوم الخميس
